Rejoice, rejoice! The church bells chime 
To greet this joyful Christmas time, 
When God the Father gave His Son, 
Through whom was man's redemption won. 
    
The shepherds feared the angel throng,
But understood their sacred song;
They left their fields a king to find:
The baby Lord of all Mankind. 

O blessed babe, in silent sleep 
The secret of thy Godhead keep. 
To star-led shepherds simply shown,  
The truth abides with God alone.
